Wanneer ik een backup van mijn schijf wil maken, zegt hij telkens parameter
onjuist.. dit komt telkens weer in het scherm. Hoe kan ik dit wegkrijgen?

Ik denk dat niemand hier beschikt over een kristallen bol om jouw
probleem op te lossen. Hoe meer info jij geeft, hoe makkelijker men je
kan helpen. Dus: welk besturingssysteem? Met welke software probeer je
die backup te maken? Is dat de /volledige/ foutmelding? enz.

Indien de harde schijf met FAT32 is geformatteerd zal het niet in één
keer lukken vanwege de < 4 GB beperking van FAT32.
In gedeelten kopieëren zal het wel lukken.

I am trying to copy big file from hard disk to external USB hard disk
and instantly I am getting the following error

Cannot copy file. The Parameter Is Incorrect Error

I tried an xcopy in dos with the same result.I have also tried to copy
the same file in my server hard disk with different location and that
worked too! So it was something to do with copying to the USB Hard drive.
Finally the penny dropped that my new external HDD was formatted as FAT32
and hence had a maximum file size of 4Gb.A quick reformat my USB hard
disk with NTFS and I got my backups squirted across onto the external
disk with no trouble.
So you need to make sure your drives are formated with FAT32 it will
allow maximum file size of 4Gb so you need to make sure you have formated
your external disk with NTFS.

This worked for me.
I was trying to copy a 4.6 GB zip file to a flash drive for my employer.
Got the same parameter incorrect error. Tried breaking it up with the
versions of Winzip and Winrar that were installed on the server and they
couldn't handle it.
Discovered they only had Winzip 8.1. Installed Winzip 11.1, extracted the
original zip file and recompressed it into 700 MB units and they copied
fine. Thanks for the tip.
